The beginning

Hi, my name is Ruta. I'm originally from Latvia, but the idea for Stihija came to life while I was working as a wilderness guide in the Arctic, where winter lasts forever and cozy nights are the norm. I started spending my evenings knitting and crocheting just to pass the time and stay warm. Before I knew it, I was hooked — literally. That’s how Stihija started: with a ball of yarn, a lot of snow outside, and a spark of inspiration.

Why Stihija?

In Latvian culture, knitting and crocheting are traditional skills passed down through generations. Stihija takes that heritage and makes it fresh, bold, and wearable for modern city life.

The name "Stihija" means a powerful, untamed force of nature - reflected in vibrant colors and unique designs that bring a spark of playful chaos to everyday outfits.
